High performance Ni K-edge EXAFS out to k = 14 Å-1 for Ni metal reference foil. For this sample, synchrotron quality EXAFS spectra was obtained in as little as 15 minutes.  easyXAFS instruments can measure a wide k-range, enabling improved local structural identification.

Se VTC 

 XES valence-to-core (VtC) XES measurements of Se metal and Na2SeO4 measured with an easyXES150 spectrometer.

Valence-to-core XES measurements of Se metal and Na2SeO4 measured on an easyXES150 spectrometer. The presence of the additional peak at 12,639 eV reflects the change in valence structure of the selenium valence electrons in Na2SeO4, and is likely due to orbital mixing with the oxygen.

Fe oxide XES data (low weight %)

XES Fe Kβ (Kbeta) spectra of Fe oxides (Fe2O3) at low weight percentages in carbon binder (PEG). Measured with easyXAFS easyXES150 spectrometer.

Fe Kβ XES spectra measurements at concentrations as low as  0.25 wt. % Fe, with measurement time of only 4 minutes. XES measurements are well suited for low elemental concentrations.

The BRIMSTONE is a high performance tender x-ray emission spectrometer (2-5 keV). Using an innovative optical geometry and standard x-ray tube, this instrument provides synchrotron-quality x-ray emission spectra (XES) at synchrotron-level count rates. The ~1-eV energy resolution strongly outperforms all traditional WD-XRF systems in this energy range, with high-profile applications for sulfur and phosphorus speciation.

Sulfur XES Kα

Tender X-ray Emission Spectroscopy (XES) measurements of the Sulfur Kα emission line in ZnS and Na2SO4 compounds. The change in oxidation state of the sulfur is indicated by the shift in energy of the spectrum, while there is very little change in spectral shape.

Phosphorus XES Kα

Sulfur VTC-XES Kβ

easyXAFS BRIMSTONE valence-to-core Kβ XES measurements of Sulfur in ZnS and Na2SO4 compounds.

Tender XES measurements of Sulfur valence-to-core Kβ XES show an increased sensitivity to the valence electronic structure compared to the Kα. Comparing the measurements of ZnS and Na2SO4, a number of spectral features change, including the presence of a separate peak at lower energies due to the oxygen 2s orbital hybridization with the sulfur valence electrons.

Sulfur Kα XES spectrum of a partially oxidized sample of CoS demonstrates the sensitivity of S Kα XES. Since the spectral shape does not change significantly, linear combination fitting can be performed with high confidence to determine the fraction of oxidized sulfur.
